Arsenal’s title hopes have received a huge boost, with reports that a bid for Karim Benzema has been accepted by Real Madrid.
The Gunners have long been admirers of the French forward and it seems that Arsene Wenger may finally have got his man.
Former England striker Rodney Marsh told talkSPORT the former Lyon man would likely cost Arsenal a club record fee, saying:
“I had a phone call from a mate of mine, and he’s been right on many things, and he said that he believes Real Madrid have accepted a bid somewhere in the region of £48million for Benzema from Arsenal.
“In the past this guy has always been right, he’s never been wrong yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
It would certainly give Arsenal fans something to shout about as they look to win their first league title in over a decade.
