Tim Sherwood’s upholstered Aston Villa hotseat isn’t even cold yet, and there is rampant speculation as to who should replace him at Villa Park.
The current favourite – according to reports anyway – seems to be former Lyon boss Remi Garde. But what do the fans think of his prospective appointment, or the other contenders for that matter? We looked at a cross-section of opinion.
Aaron is firmly in the Garde guard…
Personally I want Remi Garde to get the Villa job! #AVFC

As is Matt, but mainly due to his Arsenal heritage…
I sort of remember Garde in his playing days at Arsenal. If it's true Wenger's giving him a reference, then that's good enough for me #avfc

‘Official’ is more sceptical, and prefers David Moyes…

Michael has a heart of stone (and wants Brendan Rodgers)…

Mickel is open to either Rodgers or Moyes…
I'd love for us to hire Rodgers. But Moyes knows how to make the team solid. Also has experience of building squads with modest budget #AVFC

Whereas Matt is more unambiguous – he wants the ex-Man United man…
Tons of PL experience, very used to working on a tight budget. No brainer for me. #AVFC #Moyes

So does Steve, but for selfish reasons…
I want David Moyes at Villa just to say "Moyseh" at any given opportunity.

Ben is yet another fan of the current Real Sociedad man…
@dwnnll out of his depth. Never wanted him in the first place. This garde is unproven too. It's all about David Moyes!! #avfc

Adam has a left-field name to add to the mix…

Tim and Oliver go even more left-field…

I'd love him at Villa. Has over-achieved in every job#AVFC https://t.co/aPBEbmfsLB

James reckons ostrich-lover Nigel Pearson is worth a go…
@SkySportsNewsHQ Pearson. He knows the league and is available for nothing. Worked wonders with Leicester, can do the same at VP #AVFC
— James Leyfield (@JamesJourn) October 26, 2015
But there’s significant clamour for Andre Villas-Boas to be appointed…
AVB as a cheeky outsider?? Prem experience, well thought of, would want a chance to prove himself in England after Spurs #avfc

André Villas-Boas – New Aston Villa manager? Yes, please. Gotta be better than anyone else mentioned so far.

Alas there is one name touted that no one really fancies…
If Gus Poyet is on the shortlist for the job then we might aswell give up now. Shocking #AVFC

Gus Poyet on short list FFS #AVFC
