Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell pulled off what was possibly the catch of the series with a stunning effort at Headingley on Friday.
The Aussies were playing England in the fourth one-day international of the summer and the highlight was Maxwell’s remarkable dexterity and speed of thought to save a certain six.
The 26-year-old did brilliantly well to pluck the ball from the sky, but his momentum meant he was hurdling over the boundary rope himself – which would have been classed as six runs and no wicket.
What he did next has to be seen to be believed. Talk about quick thinking…
