Well played.
It’s a classic piece of school ground prankery, which’ll bring back some good or painful memories, depending on how often you got stung by it.
If you didn’t play it at school, sit down grandpa and we’ll explain. Essentially, all you had to do was make a circle with your thumb and index finger, with your hand by your side. If you got someone to look at the circle, then you were supposed to thump them in the arm. That was it.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: We definitely do not condone or encourage punching people in the arm. Don’t do it, kids).
It was even immortalised in an episode of Malcolm In The Middle (This clip is in Spanish, but it’s still pretty clear):
There was plenty to talk about during the first half of today’s Everton vs Arsenal clash – but eagle-eyed viewers spotted a ball-boy doing something pretty cheeky while Alexis Sanchez took a corner. Take a look:
Yup. He pulled out a circle. And got us all. Well played, that lad.
Thankfully 3D technology is not yet at a level where he can reach through the cameras and punch us all in the arm.
