Barcelona could be set for a shocking move for a former Liverpool forward this January.
The Catalan club have been unable to make new signings for the previous two transfer windows and are thought to be on the lookout for ‘a new Henrik Larsson’ with Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt at the top of their list.
Larsson joined Barca back in 2004 and contributed well in the twilight of his career, most famously coming on as a substitute in the 2006 Champions League final where he assists both goals in Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Arsenal.
Luis Enrique is hoping that someone like Kuyt could have a similar impact, as he would join up with former Liverpool teammates Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano.
If Kuyt turns down a move, the Spanish side could turn their attentions to former Manchester City man Alvaro Negredo who now plays with Valencia.
