You often see headlines about celebrities “destroying” or “owning” people on Twitter.
But it’s nice to see people being polite to each other.
As happens most match days, Gary Lineker was tweeting along with Leicester City’s game on Saturday afternoon. And as they were playing in-form Manchester City, it didn’t go very well for the Foxes.
As Man City went 2-0 at the start of the second half, Lineker tweeted:
Leicester hit the post but on the counter a sickeningly ferocious shot from De Bruyne makes it 2-0.

This caught the attention of Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy, who is currently out with a long-term injury. Mendy, being a lovely person, took it apologise for Lineker’s hurt feelings.
Sorry 🤷🏾♂️😇😭

Lineker seemed non-plussed by the message.
Thrilled for you 😏 https://t.co/osoYQ2WgHT
