Understandably, news of an explosion near to the Borussia Dortmund team bus caused a great deal of concern ahead of the team’s Champions League game with Monaco.
Thankfully, nobody appears to have been seriously hurt by the incident, although Dortmund’s Marc Bartra was taken to hospital with what are described as being ‘superficial’ injuries.
After confirmation that the game has been postponed until Wednesday, Dortmund’s official Twitter account thanked the Monaco supporters that had gathered in Westfalenstadion’s away end when news of the explosion began to filter through to the stadium.
Thanks for your patience and understanding and the "Dortmund! Dortmund" chants, dear supporters of @AS_Monaco_EN! pic.twitter.com/Gcz9XGQY0J

At a time when it was still unclear as to how serious the incident was, Monaco supporters were seen and heard chanting the name of their hosts.
