“You have a very uncanny way of bringing out the best in people”
Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has posted a touching tribute to Tyson Fury on social media in which he described the ‘Gypsy King’ as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title against the American after an 11th round knockout in Las Vegas secured the victory in the final of the trilogy of fights.
After the dust had settled, Scott took to Twitter to provide his thoughts on the fight and praised Wilder’s opponent for a well-fought battle.
In his statement, he said: “Tyson, incredible fighter you are… you have a very uncanny way of bringing out the best in people and I really embraced this mission with open arms.

“Knowing we was going up against one of the greatest heavyweights of ANY era and with my man @kronksugarhill [Sugarhill – Tyson Fury’s trainer] being your head trainer made the task even more intriguing.
“Last night we was great but you guys were greater… Congratulations on a well earned win. ‘Boxing wins again’.”
Scott also had words for his own, praising the Alabama-born man for his efforts in the ring and that he will continue to be by his side.
He said: “Ah brother you know I will walk with you through any storm and stand by side regardless of any circumstances and our bond is forever unbreakable…
“What you and Fury did last night was unbelievable and the heart you two showed was astounding, love you brother.”
Scott’s comments follow after he earlier revealed why Wilder had refused to show his opponent any respect, highlighting that the ‘Bronze Bomber’s’ views on Fury hadn’t changed.
He said: “Deontay, obviously, he looks at Fury as a man he had serious issues with concerning certain allegations and certain things he’d seen with his own eyes.
“Tonight, after they released all that energy, he still felt the way he felt.”
