The American TV personality also questioned Paul’s decision to call out Canelo Alvarez
Stephen A. Smith has called out Jake Paul in a viral video, claiming “he can’t get away with lying” following his knockout win against Tyron Woodley last weekend.
Paul defeated the former UFC star with a brutal sixth-round knockout victory to extend his unbeaten professional record to 5-0 after Woodley stepped in at the last minute to replace original opponent Tommy Fury, who pulled out of the fight due to illness and injury.

But popular American TV personality Smith hasn’t been convinced by the former YouTuber’s displays in the ring and believes he should be facing more challenging opponents in a video posted to his social media.
In a clip taken from ESPN show, First Take he said: “Jake Paul can’t get away with lying anymore.
“He has been training with boxers and professional boxing trainers for more than four years, from my understanding.
“You knocked out a basketball player, you knocked out a guy in Ben Askren who was a UFC fighter. He was a wrestler.
“Tyron Woodley had the power to knock you out; sure, and he’s knocked people out before. But he’s a wrestler.

As you can see, he goes on to say: “You’re not fighting boxers. And somewhere along the way, people gotta stop walking around, laughing and acting like it’s alright for you to be beating up on cats that don’t box, while you’re calling yourself a boxer.”
Smith also branded the 24-year-old a “joke” after he called out multiple world champion Canelo Alvarez, who has won world titles in five separate weight divisions, as he believes he hasn’t earned the right to take on someone of Canelo’s magnitude.

“That’s a joke,” Smith said.
“It’s an insult. Here’s the deal – Canelo’s the best in the world. He’ll knock Jake Paul out in one round. He’ll take him out.
“But more importantly, Jake Paul hasn’t earned the right to be in the ring with somebody as serious, and as lethal, and as accomplished as Canelo.”
At this moment, it remains unclear as to who Paul will face in the ring next, but rumours have suggested that he could be in line to go up against the experienced Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in what would be his biggest test to date.
