Woodley had originally wanted a rematch with Jake Paul
Tyron Woodley looks set to go up against Dan Hardy in his next fight, which is expected to take place in the UK early next year, according to the Mirror.
Woodley, who lost to Jake Paul in his most recent fight, had previously stated that he wanted a rematch with the American, however that now seems unlikely with the former UFC fighter set to go up against Hardy after Paul went in pursuit of arranging a fight with Tommy Fury.
Hardy hasn’t fought for nine years but has claimed that he is waiting for Woodley to put pen to paper to agree a deal to fight him at some stage in early 2022.
In an interview with Submission Radio he said: “My contract is signed.
“I know that he’s got a contract sitting in front of him, and the deadline is approaching, and he doesn’t want to sign it, and I don’t know why.”
Hardy also took aim at Woodley’s nickname ‘The Chosen One’, instead dubbing him ‘The Frozen One’, due to his reluctancy to sign the contract.
“I don’t know what the deal is because terms have been agreed,” Hardy said.
“Money’s been agreed, date’s been agreed, rules and conditions, weight class – everything’s been agreed, but he hasn’t yet signed the contract.
“So you tell me. Tyron Woodley, why have you not signed it, the frozen one?”
The Nottingham-born fighter then urged Woodley to sign once again, insisting that the money on offer is the best valued-deal he can get.
He said: “It’s a new promotion, but it’ll be the first quarter of next year in the UK.
“That’s the plan, that’s the deal and the money they offered him is good, and they agreed to it.
“I know it’s more than he’s getting anywhere else as well. That’s a fact.
“So he needs to strap on a pair and sign the contract so we can get this done.”
