‘I’ll knock him out if that fight happens.’
Tyson Fury has promised to deliver a ‘swift knockout’ when he faces Dillian Whyte, after the WBC ordered the mandatory fight between the two, reports the Independent.
Whyte was made the mandatory challenger after beating Alexander Povetkin in a rematch earlier this year, making him the number one contender to face Fury after the Gypsy King’s victory against Deontay Wilder in October.
And when questioned about the prospect of facing his fellow Brit on the ‘Behind the Gloves’ show, the reigning WBC champion vowed that he would knock Whyte out.
He said: “How many days has he been my mandatory? One! So welcome to the big GK [Gypsy King] world.
“I’ve known Dillian a long time, we go back a long way and he’s improved a lot over the last few years.
“But the outcome will always be the same, I’ll knock him out if that fight happens.”

It’s understood that Fury’s camp are still keen on the prospect of him facing Oleksandr Usyk, however, the Ukrainian looks set to fight Anthony Joshua again in March or April after Joshua activated a rematch clause following his defeat to Usyk in September.
But that now may change, with Eddie Hearn recently revealing the Joshua may step aside and allow Fury and Usyk to fight – with Joshua facing the winner.
And the ‘Gypsy King’ has insisted he will have no say in arranging the dates should it come to fruition, solely focusing on training for whatever may happen.
“You’ll have to speak to my promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum because I don’t get involved in dates and that sort of thing,” Fury said.
“Get the date, whatever it says I’ll train for that fight and I’ll turn up.
“I love fighting in Vegas, I’m an adopted Las Vegas person, they call me ‘Las Vegas T’, but if it’s going to be in England that’s fantastic.
“If it’s not, there’s not much I can do about it because you’ve got the promoters who are going to put the fight on wherever it’s going to be.”
