The release of Fifa 18 is a matter of days away.
With its makers, EA Sports, preparing for its launch, a report in the Mirror claims they’ve made a slight mistake regarding Brazil legend, Ronaldo, who is set to feature on the new game.
Ronaldo, one of the finest strikers on the planet during the late 1990s and early 2000s, has been given a four (out of five) star skill rating on the game – despite being widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted players of his generation.
The decision to hand him a lower skill rating than Aiden McGeady (who’s also deemed more skilful than Lionel Messi on the new game)Â might appear harsh in itself, but, as the Mirror point out, it also means that the Fifa 18 version of R9 won’t be able to utilise one of the skills he used to great effect during his playing days.
The ‘Elastico’ (see below for more) was a manoeuvre Ronaldo regularly used to wrong-foot defenders over the course of his career. Unfortunately, however, as things stand only Fifa 18’s five star skill players can perform the trick.
As the report points out, with a release date scheduled for September 29, there’s still ample time for EA Sports to sort this out.
