Brendan Rodgers is no longer the manager of Liverpool Football Club.
The 42-year-old will “leave his post with immediate effect after having his contract terminated.”
He has been sacked following the club’s poor start to the season, and was relieved of his position within hours of drawing with Merseyside rivals Everton. Liverpool currently languish in 10th place.
The move must surely mean that the Liverpool board have a manager in mind to replace the former Swansea City man. Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are amongst the bookies’ favourites.
