Celtic have moved to distance themselves from supporters who interrupted the minute’s silence during their win over Ross County on Sunday.
The Scottish champions ran out 4-1 winners, but the game was overshadowed by a section of Celtic’s travelling fanbase refusing to respect the moment of reflection.
In a statement, the club said: ‘The silence was impeccably observed by the overwhelming majority of our fans as it always is. Clearly we are disappointed that a handful of individuals have chosen to embarrass the club and our supporters in this way.’
The statement concluded with an clear indication of where the club stand on the issue, saying: ‘These individuals are not welcome at Celtic.’
All football clubs have their element of morons but I genuinely feel sorry for all the decent Celtic fans today. pic.twitter.com/Da7oUb7do8

Manager Ronny Deila also condemned the fans’ actions.
“I come from Norway and I don’t know too much about these things,” he said. “But it is something the club has to deal with.”
