Kevin Beirne

This is what it’s all about.

It sometimes feels like it takes until the quarter-final stage for the Champions League to begin in earnest, but it’s kicked into full gear now with an exciting last eight draw.

Manchester City are the only British team remaining and they face a tough task in their first ever Champions League quarter-final as they take on Chelsea’s conquerors Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, defending champions Barcelona have face Atletico Madrid after dismantling Arsenal in the last 16, while Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich were handed arguably the easiest tie of the draw as they take on Benfica.

Champions League knockout newcomers Wolfsburg were thrown in with the big boys as they take on Real Madrid.

The first legs will be played on April 5 and 6, with the return legs taking place a week later.

Here is the draw in full:

Wolfsburg v Real Madrid

Bayern Munich v Benfica

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid

Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain
