Ched Evans reportedly set to re-sign for Sheffield United

A fee has reportedly been agreed

Sheffield United are poised to re-sign Ched Evans from Chesterfield, the BBC report.

BBC Radio Sheffield say that the League One champions have agreed a fee of £500,000 for the 28-year-old striker who last played for the club in 2012 before being found guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room in 2011.

That conviction was later quashed, and Evans was later found not guilty at a re-trial in October of last year.

Chesterfield offered Evans the chance to return to professional football in June 2016, two months after his conviction had been quashed. He has scored seven goals for the club this season, despite them being relegated from League One.

Evans first joined Sheffield United for £3m from Manchester City in 2009, going on to score 42 goals in 103 league appearances for the Bramall Lane club.
