CM Punk gets called out by the the only man with as bad a UFC record as him

Last thing he wanted.

Patrick McCarry

You could not blame CM Punk for wanting another shot at it.

He was defeated at UFC 203, on his promotional debut, without throwing anything like his best shot. Mickey Gall went from 2-0 in his professional fight career to 3-0 after making short work of the former WWE star.

UFC 203: Miocic v Overeem

That night, Punk told reporters he would love to stay within the UFC and fight again. He said:

“I don’t know what happens from here on out. What if I get cut? That’s a possibility. Do I want that to happen? No.

“I definitely want to keep going. I just fell off a bike. I’m not going to shelf it and leave it in the straight. I’m going to get back and ride.”

Well, another fighter with a UFC record of 0-1 is looking to get back on his fight-bike too. Punk may not be too happy about his identity.

Mike Jackson was seen by many as fodder for Gall to defeat on his UFC debut after an injury delayed his bout with Punk. So it transpired as Jackson fell to a first-round loss to the 24-year-old.

The Truth appears to be playing the only card he has left at this stage.

The loser of Mickey Gall’s second ever pro fight against the loser of Mickey Gall’s third ever pro fight? This is one we can wait for.

If this happens, please let it be on a Fight Pass under-card, or even in the Legacy Fighting Alliance [the UFC’s little league equivalent].
