Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo respond to whether they will shake hands after UFC 194

It’s the grudge match of 2015.

There is no love lost between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo as the pair of featherweights prepare to finally step foot in the octagon with one another.

So bad is the blood between McGregor and Aldo that many had wondered whether their disdain for one another had superseded the respect that both grew up with in their learning of martial arts.

During a conference call on Wednesday night, both fighters were asked whether they would shake hands after the final bell of UFC 194.

“I see no problem in that,” Aldo said. “I’m really thinking of the fight right now but after the fight’s over, I see no problem in shaking his hand. We’re going to have to see how the fight plays out.

“I’m going to be in there working as well as he’s going to be in there working and everyone else is so I don’t see a problem in that.”

“Yeah, I am always respectful,” McGregor answered. “Pre and post. I’ll touch the glove before the fight begins.

“I won’t touch the glove when the referee waves us in to fight!

“And then I’ll touch the glove after the fight when it’s all said and done. This is business.”
