Conor McGregor blasts ‘loser’ Jose Aldo after Brazilian’s celebratory tweet

Rivalry renewed

These two seem ready to renew their rivalry.

With Conor McGregor conceding that his next move will likely be a defence of his UFC featherweight title against either Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar, the Brazilian has already moved to reignite his feud with the Notorious.

But, in addition to showing admirable humility in the wake of last night’s defeat by Nate Diaz, McGregor took time to respond to being labelled ‘a p***y’ by Aldo.

Having earlier stated that people it was difficult for him to understand “how somebody not involved can celebrate another man’s victory”, McGregor was asked about Aldo’s brash tweet and said: “He [Aldo] had an opportunity to show up here, and he didn’t.

“He could be sitting across there, he could be sitting where Nate’s sitting now. He was the first choice.

“He said anytime, any place, anywhere… and then it wasn’t anytime, any place, anywhere. Now another man gets a victory over men and he celebrates it. That’s the sign of a loser. That’s the sign of a runner-up. That’s the not the sign of a champion.”

Sounds like Frankie Edgar might have his work cut out to finally get his shot at the title if these two pick up where they left off.
