If you thought pilingĀ on 25lbs was going to slow Conor McGregor down, think again.
The featherweight champion has stepped up to weight classes from 145lbs to face Nate Diaz at 170lbs.
McGregor was reportedly walking around at an incredible 177lbs just 10 days out from UFC 196 – with some quarters claiming it might hamper that famous speed and movement.
But The Notorious lifted the lid on what he’s been building in this fight camp at open workouts in Las Vegas ahead of the main event on Saturday night…and he looks an absolute beast.
We know he’s been eating good – but not having to make that weight cut to 145lbs has left him looking strong and energised.
Just look at the hand speed, punching power and head movement working those pads…

Just in case you missed the nonchalance with which he planted the uppercut then dodged the left, here it is again…
That's a baaaad man! #UFC196 https://t.co/H17WdjYM2o

If this is what McGregor’s like on steaks, lets hope he never gets back on the salads – even if it means we never seen him fight at lightweight again.
We can almost smell that welterweight superfight against Robbie Lawler at UFC 200 – and judging by these comments from the Irishman, so can he.
