Conor McGregor’s big announcement is that he’s going to be a father

But he also had a warning for the UFC chiefs

Conor McGregor, the first UFC fighter to hold two belts in two separate divisions in the UFC, is going to be a father.

Dana White kept everyone on tenterhooks as he teased the “left-field” announcement that McGregor had been repeatedly mentioning in the build-up to his historic fight against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

McGregor silenced the doubters yet again by brutally knocking out the Underground King to claim the UFC lightweight strap in the main event.

However, during his Octagon interview, which left a lot of fans infuriated because of the poor audio quality during the live broadcast, he failed to drop the big news. A few hours later, he finally revealed that he is set to become a father during the post-fight press conference.

“Well I have a few announcements. One I’m going to be a Daddy early next year. I’m crapping me jocks. I don’t even know what way to take it, because I don’t want to be bringing a child into anything like this. I don’t want no celebrity type shite. I hate all that. I don’t want my family to be like that. I’m gonna have this baby, take a little time and see what way I feel after that.”

McGregor also put pressure on the UFC’s new owners to come talk to him about business after he became a dual champion in the promotion. He feels that after what he’s accomplished, he deserves a bigger slice of the UFC pie.

“Then that’s it, they’ve got to come talk to me now, because no one’s come talk to me since the sale has happened as a business man. I’ve been approached as ‘Hello’ and that type of stuff, but I’ve earned something.”

“Who owns the company now? People have shares… celebrities. Conan O’Brien owns shares of the UFC. Where’s my share? Where’s my equity? I want what I deserve, what I’ve earned. They’ve got to come talk to me now. I’ve got both belts, a chunk of money and a family on the way. You want me to stick around and keep doing what I’m doing, let’s talk, but I want ownership now. I want what I deserve – what I’ve earned.”
