Is there a psychic working behind the scenes at the Ultimate Fighting Championship or has a hacker been messing about?
Either way, there were some very strange goings-on at UFC.com on Saturday evening.
Seven days before Conor McGregor will take to the Octagon in the main event of UFC 205 in an attempt to wrest the UFC lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez’s grasp, ‘The Notorious’ was portrayed as the 155lbs champion online.

Scanning through the reigning belt-holders, UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson was rightly depicted in his correct place. So too was Dominick Cruz in the bantamweight slot.
But, strikingly, the featherweight division that McGregor stands atop was captioned with a big, fat ‘To Be Determined’ while the Irishman was displayed as the main man at lightweight.
Alvarez will not be happy to see that his picture is nowhere to be seen and while McGregor may well be lightweight champion next week, it seems bizarre that he’s not considered featherweight champion on the official UFC website.
McGregor has been told by UFC president Dana White that, if victorious next weekend, he must vacate one of his titles and it’s possible that the site will be proven quite perspicacious if he opts to part ways with his 145lbs crown with a win in Madison Square Garden.
Who knows?
At the time of writing, the list has yet to be remedied at UFC.com but after some presumably panicked phonecalls to the IT department, we would anticipate that to be changed sooner rather than later.
