Of all the places to attempt to rob, mixed martial arts gyms are probably up there with the least intelligent picks.
Why any criminal would put themselves in a position where they are trying to burgle a place full of trained killers in the art of unarmed combat is beyond us.
One alleged burglar found out the painful way just how bad an idea it was when he entered the Defiant MMA & Fitness studio in Burbank, California armed with a gun on Tuesday night.
According to FoxLA.com, the suspect then proceeded to attempt to threaten members of the gym and rob the academy before instructor and amateur MMA fighter Jacobe Powell intervened.
“My instincts kicked in, I used my judo training to go ahead and subdue him and got the weapon away from him before the cops arrived,” Powell said.
“One of my guys here who was training called the police, and I just subdued him until the police showed up.”
The above video shows the suspect sporting quite the bloodied face as he was led away from the premises by police officers and we’re almost certain that he will think twice before he tries anything quite that dumb again.
