Crystal Palace defender Pape Souaré will be out of action for a long while after suffering serious injuries in a car crash.
The Senegal international was airlifted to hospital after the motorway accident, and manager Alan Pardew confirmed he is not expected back in action before the turn of the year due to a broken thigh bone.
Souaré has begun the recovery process, but was not ready to return to Selhurst Park for the pre-season team photos.
No bother, the club found a way of making it appear as though he was there all along – using the simple art of photoshop.

Since the defender was released from hospital last month, he has been visited by a number of club and international teammates.
Senegal captain Cheikhou Kouyaté has caught up with his compatriot, while Souaré has also been paid a visit by former Palace colleague Emmanuel Adebayor.

Souaré’s injuries are not quite as bad as first feared, with Pardew thanking the London Air Ambulance and the surgeons who helped treat him in the immediate aftermath of the accident on the M4.
However his recovery is unlikely to come in time for the Africa Cup of Nations in January, where Senegal will hope to improve on their group stage exit from 2015.
