It’s not often that you see grand gestures like this in football.
Damien Duff has proved he’s a good egg by pledging to donate his wages to charity.
Duff is set to sign for Irish side Shamrock Rovers, with the club and sponsors planning to contribute around €1,000 a week to a charity at the 36-year-old’s request.

The former Republic of Ireland international is an ambassador for Heart Children Ireland but it is not yet clear if that is the charity that stands to benefit. Duff’s son, Woody, was born with a congenital heart defect so HCI is a charity he is passionate in supporting.
Damien #Duff has always been a class act, and he's proven that with his pledge to donate his wages to a local charity.
