David Beckham has admitted that he would like to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the US.
Speculation over the Sweden captain’s future is growing with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire at the end of the season, and the 34-year-old is believed to be interested in a Stateside move.
Beckham, who played with Ibrahimovic during a brief spell at PSG in 2013, has been given the go-ahead to set up an MLS expansion team in Miami, Florida and has hinted at a possible reunion for the pair.
Speaking to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the former England captain said: “We have received permission to build an arena and it will take three years … maybe two, at best.
“If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it’s entirely possible. Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?
“I love Zlatan as a person and a player.
“I’ve never met anyone as serious as him during matches and training. When I came to Paris, I knew he was hugely talented but I didn’t know that he was so hard on himself. He’s a born winner and I’m one of his biggest admirers.”
