While Jamie Vardy is having an incredible season for Leicester and England, there is another Premier League star who is in resplendent form.
West Ham’s Dimitri Payet has surely been one of the players of the season so far.
The Frenchman has set the league ablaze with his scintillating play and his uncanny knack of finding the net in spectacular fashion.
But this hot streak has continued for his national side who took on Russia in a pre-Euro 2016 friendly.
The 29-year-old came on in the 62nd minute and then just 60 seconds later he stepped up to take a free kick.
62nd minute: Payet comes on for France.
63rd minute: Payet scores an amazing free kick with his first touch! 😳— Julien Laurens (@LaurensJulien) March 29, 2016
Payet’s first touch (of the game) didn’t let him down and he curled this truly sublime effort into the far corner.
Manchester United have been on the end of it, Blackburn Rovers have been on the end of it and now Russia have had a taste of what it’s like to watch one of Payet’s unstoppable free kicks sail in.
What a goal from the man. Oh, and it’s his birthday as well.
