Everton’s bid for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been scoffed at by fans.
The Black Cats have reportedly slapped a £30 million price tag on their stopper, who was a shining light in an otherwise underwhelming season, but Everton are nowhere close to matching the figure.
The Liverpool Echo report that the Toffees have tabled an £8 million bid for Pickford which, for all you non-mathematicians out there, is much less than £30 million.
It’s understood that Everton are willing to go as high as £15 million for the 23-year-old however that may not be enough to tempt the Stadium of Light hierarchy to part ways with their most promising player.
Report on Merseyside Everton had an offer £8m bid for Pickford rejected by #safc. First I've heard of it. More of an insult than a bid

Pickford made 135 saves this season but his heroics between the sticks were not enough to save Sunderland from relegation.
He was called up to the England squad last October and made his first appearance for the national side when he replaced Tom Heaton in a World Cup Qualifier against Slovenia.
West Ham are also interested in Pickford and will almost certainly offer more than £8 million, which will get you very little in today’s market.
Supporters certainly saw the funny side of Everton’s attempt at lowballing.
£8m for Pickford? in today's market?! 😂 Everton are taking the piss there

8m for Pickford wouldn't even cover his laces.
