Aside from the controversy over the ball that was or wasn’t out of play, there was another big talking point in Manchester City’s victory over Everton.
Toffees goalkeeper Joel Robles was seen trying to drag Kevin de Bruyne back to his feet after the City midfielder went down late on in the game.
The Spaniard may have thought his opponent was time wasting, but it soon became clear that De Bruyne had picked up a serious knee injury – one which looks set to rule him out for much of the rest of the season.
When the dust had settled, Robles realised the error of his ways and was honourable enough to apologise on social media.
I would like to apologise to Kevin De Bruyne for my reaction to his injury. In the heat of the moment I didn't realise he was badly hurt. ..

With tensions running high after the defeat, it would have been easy for the Everton man to stay silent. Fair play to him for doing the right thing.
