Everton’s day gets even better as images emerge of classy new away kit

First Rooney, now this...

JOE

What a day for Everton.

Yes, they’ve lost Romelu Lukaku, their top scorer from last season, to Manchester United.

But they got £75m for the striker, and Wayne Rooney’s back at the club after 13 years at Old Trafford.

Rooney grew up supporting Everton, and joined them when he was 11. He made his debut at 16, and announced himself to the world with a stunning goal against Arsenal, to end their 30-game unbeaten run, back in October 2002.

The forward would score another 16 goals for the Toffees, before joining United in August 2004. Rooney subsequently won every club trophy possible, and became United’s all-time top scorer.

However, Everton remained the club he supported, and he has even admitted wearing Everton pyjamas throughout his 13 years at United.

Rooney doesn’t have to hide his allegiances anymore and will be delighted if this leaked jersey turns out to be Everton’s away strip for the coming season.

Footy Headlines have posted images of what appears to be Everton’s new white away shirt, and it should go down well with Toffees’ fans and their new number 10.

Here’s the jersey:

And, if Rooney returning and a swanky new jersey wasn’t enough for Everton fans, according to reports on Sunday, their new stadium could be bigger than Anfield.

Everton hope to build a new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, and reports claim they aim to make it a 60,000-seat venue, which would surpass the 54,000 their rivals Liverpool get on a matchday at Anfield.
