Sod’s law.
Crystal Palace became the second side to take a point off Man City this season with a hard fought 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park.
But it could have been so much better, if Luka Milivojević had scored the penalty they were awarded in injury time.
He has scored every penalty he has taken for Palace. The one time since his arrival in January that a different player took a penalty, a few weeks ago against Bournemouth in similar circumstances.
In the last minute of the Bournemouth match, with the score tied at 2-2 Christian Benteke insisted on taking the penalty and it was subsequently saved by Asmir Begović.
Understandably, the same decision was not made this time. Milivojević stepped up to take the penalty but just like Benteke, it was saved after a tame shot down the middle.
Everyone obviously made the same, hilarious joke.

Should have let Benteke take it, just saying… 👀

Maybe Benteke should have taken the penalty. #bbcfootball
