Patrice Evra has revealed his ambition to move into management after being tipped for the top by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The French full-back spent eight years under Ferguson’s tutelage at Manchester United, winning five Premier League titles, before joining Juventus last summer.
And he has now shed light on a conversation the pair had before the manager’s departure, in which the Scot told Evra he will one day make a great coach.
“There are strange feelings now that I didn’t have at the start,” Evra told Canal+.
“Ferguson, before he left, called me into his office. He said to me, ‘Pat, I’m going to tell you something very important. There are two players who’ll be great coaches in this team, that’s Ryan Giggs and you.’
“I have passed some of the badges as a coach in Manchester. I do everything slowly. I want to get my coaching badges. We’ll see after that.”
