The odds of you ever becoming an F1 driver are unlikely. Sorry, but it is true.
Thankfully, that’s where F1 2019 comes in. Racing game specialists Codemasters are back with the annual official Formula One game, with a host of new and improved features which bring you an even more realistic experience than ever before.
One big change is that the game is hitting stores two months earlier than usual – meaning that we get our hands on it ahead of the British, German and Hungarian races. F1 2019 comes out as real-life storylines are developing in the sport itself, instead of dropping after the dust has settled.
So, we’re getting our mitts on the game earlier than usual – but what else can we look forward to?
Work your way up from F2
Of course, you don’t get to F1 with just a click of your fingers – the top drivers have had to work their way up to the big leagues. For the first time, the official F1 game will also include Formula Two, allowing true motorsport heads to re-live the 2018 season with the likes of George Russell, Lando Norris and Alexander Albon, before stepping up to the 2019 F1 season.
A full career story mode
What’s a sports game these days without a good story mode? F1 2019 delivers on that, making full use of the F2 inclusion to give you an extensive saga to play through, establishing your reputation and defeating your rivals before taking on the challenge of F1.
Play as some absolute legends
FI 2019 is the tenth F1 game to be developed by Codemasters, and it remains one of the highest-rated racing game series ever. So to mark this momentous occasion, F1 2019 will be released in two versions, both offering some classic F1 moments from the past.
The ‘Anniversary Edition’ takes us back to the 2010 season, and includes the Ferrari F10, as driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, and Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button’s McLaren MP4-25
And there’s the ‘Legends Edition’, which, as well as content from the ‘Anniversary Edition’, will let players drive as F1 GOAT Ayrton Senna his 1990 McLaren MP4/5B, and his biggest rival Alain Prost, offering up eight face-off challenges between the two.
Full esports integration
Racing is all about the competition – so F1 2019 includes a fully-integrated esports arena, making it so much easier to dive into F1 Esports Series, and enter qualifiers. And if you are more of a spectator, the arena also features all the latest news and highlights as well.
Even more improved graphics
This year’s F1 game looks even better than before, with stunning new night lighting, uplifted environments and upgraded F1 broadcast visuals – night races, in particular, have been especially overhauled not only that, but replays have been enhanced and now made even easier to share, giving you all the more reason to show off your finest moments.
F1 2019 ‘Legends Edition’ (which features the Senna and Prost content) will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on June 25th, with the ‘Anniversary Edition’ following on June 28th.
