Fans are not happy with Ronda Rousey’s latest magazine cover

Always going to get an extreme reaction

Ronda Rousey has quickly become one of the most prominent female athletes in the world.

The Olympic bronze medalist’s popularity has grown so much that she will become the first MMA fighter to grace the cover of The Ring, which bills itself as ‘the bible of boxing’.

But boxing fans aren’t too pleased with this, as the cover says, ‘She conquered MMA. Is boxing next?’

No, this doesn’t mean Rousey is leaving UFC for boxing, but rather a reference to her next opponent, Holy Holm.

Holm, is a former professional boxer who once held the WBF female, IBF female, and WBAN welterweight titles all at once. She has since traded in the squared circle for the more lucrative octagon.

Fans quickly reacted, expressing their disappointment that Rousey, who is noted more for her ground game than any boxing prowess, is being hyped up in this way while actual female boxers get close to no coverage.
