Harry Arter and his partner Rachel are celebrating the birth of baby Raine.
The joyous news was confirmed by the Republic of Ireland international to friends and family on Friday.
It’s been just over 14 months since their baby girl Renee was stillborn. The couple gave Raine the middle name Renne, as a tribute to her sister.
Arter posted a touching message on Instagram on Friday night to celebrate the birth of Raine while also remembering Renee.
“A rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravage of a storm.”
“When the rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that the family is now dealing with its aftermath.”
“What is means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkest clouds.”
The news follows the wonderful gesture from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who went directly to Arter at full time of City’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Monday night to offer words of support ahead of Raine’s birth.
