Swansea City are up against it.
With just 13 points accumulated so far this season, they sit bottom of the Premier League table. Their poor form – which has seen them win just once since mid October – saw Paul Clement leave his position as manager recently.
Clearly, the club are facing the very real possibility that their stay in the top flight could be coming to an end in the months ahead.
Having lost 5-0 to Liverpool at Anfield in their most recent outing, Swansea have at least now appointed a new manager.
Carlos Carvalhal, who left his role at Sheffield Wednesday on Christmas Eve by mutual consent, will take charge at The Liberty Stadium until at least the end of the season – and it’s fair to say plenty of football fans have been left bemused by the appointment.
Wednesday supporters had high hopes of pushing for promotion this season after missing out last time in the playoffs. Things didn’t go to plan under the Portuguese, however, and he left the club in 14th in the Championship – already over ten points adrift of the clubs in the playoff positions.
With this in mind, many have expressed their surprise at the news that the 52-year-old will be asked to steer Swansea away from the drop.
Carlos Carvalhal going to Swansea isn't the best move for a club that wants to avoid relegation

Hiring of Carlos Carvalhal shows just how things have turned at Swansea; a club without forethought, nor seemingly any plan & now staring relegation in the face.

Swansea City appoint Carlos Carvalhal as manager despite him being sacked by Championship team Sheffield Wednesday just a few days ago.
Seems like they have accepted relegation…
