If we were putting money on a footballer to do something stupid on any given weekend, Brek Shea would be at the top of many people’s lists.
There are a couple of reasons, but the fact that he once posed for this photo is certainly a contributing factor.

Then there’s this photo.

Shea didn’t enjoy a great time in England, playing just a handful of games for Stoke City, Barnsley and Birmingham City, and is now back in Major League Soccer with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
The utility man was making his full debut for the Caps against Toronto FC, giving him a chance to stake his claim for a regular starting spot.
For the first hour or so it was all going okay, with the scores level at 0-0 and Carl Robinson’s side in with a shot of taking at least a point off last season’s MLS Cup finalists.
Then in the 70th minute, Shea was booked for a foul. That’s not too big a deal until you realise he somehow managed to get himself booked again. Like immediately. Before the game had restarted.

“What [Shea] told me he said, and I genuinely 100-percent believe my player, goes on every single minute of the game,” Robinson said.
However, even if that’s the case, it’s probably a smarter move not to give the referee an excuse to show you a card.
