Despite his defeat to Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor is still the UFC featherweight champion.
The Notorious became just the second champion for his weight class in UFC history after taking down Jose Aldo at UFC 194, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be defending his belt any time soon.
After the Irishman submitted to Diaz in March, Frankie Edgar probably thought he was going to get his chance at McGregor this summer. But with a repeat of UFC 196 all but confirmed, The Answer is just left with more questions.
The American’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, is clearly unhappy with McGregor’s seeming reluctance to fight his client.
Abdelaziz shared a rant on his Instagram in which he says he has ‘zero respect’ for The Notorious, who he implies is afraid to defend his title in case he loses it. Instead, he claims, McGregor has hand-picked all of his ‘out of shape’ opponents in order to avoid facing Edgar.
