The whole missing out on Red Panty Night thing seems to be a sore subject in the Frankie Edgar camp.
Edgar himself didn’t exactly hide his dismay after Conor McGregor announced his plans to step up to lightweight to face champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
‘The Answer’, who is five fights unbeaten and in the number one featherweight contender spot, came out and said he ‘f**king doubts’ whether he will even get a shot at the Irishman.
But despite McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh reassuring the former champ the featherweight match-up would happen in the future, Edgar’s coach has waded in.
And the man has come out all guns blazing.
He pretty much accused McGregor of being the big kid that comes and picks on the little guys at featherweight – saying the Dubliner walks around at 185lbs but fights the 145-ers.
Then he reminded the Notorious that his man Edgar had won the 155lb lightweight title with a walk-around weight of 156lbs.
