Gareth Bale has rubbished suggestions he and team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo do not get on.
The pair have been together at Real Madrid since 2013, and Bale has explained that, despite media reports, they have always got on well.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand as part of BT Sport’s ‘Rio Meets…’ series, Bale said he and Ronaldo have “Never had a problem in the dressing room or on the pitch.
“He works hard for the teams and scores goals which is important but as I said we’ve never had a problem. We get on really well,” he added, explaining that they enjoy playing together.
Bale has scored 19 goals in 23 La Liga appearances this season, overtaking Gary Lineker to become the highest-scoring British player in the competition’s history.
However the Welsh international will go into Saturday’s Champions League final having failed to find the net in the competition this season.
But he was among the scorers the last time Real Madrid made the final of the competition, and has claimed the quality throughout the squad can help them see off neighbours Atletico for the second time in three years.
“Going on to the pitch you have that confidence that we’re going to win, that we’re not even thinking about losing, going on and thinking about how many we’re going to score today,” he said.
“We’re confident going into the game that we can win like we are in any other game and hopefully we can win our second Champions League.”
