There’s magic in that left foot.
Gareth Bale has come in for some criticism this season but it hasn’t seemed to have been affecting his performances of late, especially away from home.
Such are the expectations of Real Madrid supporters that the Welshman has been subjected to booing from the Bernabeu terraces at stages of this campaign but, in truth, he would be doing very well to be playing any better in recent weeks.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane has continued to back the former Spurs winger to the hilt and expects him to prove the demanding fans wrong on the pitch.
“I think he is a complete player. With the pace he possesses he can inflict damage on any team when given space – as we saw the other day (against Real Sociedad),” Zidane said last week.
“But he is also very strong technically and links well with other players in tight areas.”

And Bale showed exactly the kind of technique that his manager was talking about when he opened the scoring against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
From a Dani Carvajal cross, Bale just cushioned the ball into the back of the Dortmund net on the volley with what is undeniably one of his greatest goals to date.
He’s certainly doing a solid job of silencing the haters.
Bale. Tasty.

Say what you want, objectively, Bale has quietly been among the top contributors of goals this season for Los Blancos.
