As we told you earlier, Loris Karius hasn’t taken too kindly to the criticism from Sky pundit Gary Neville.
The German was at fault for Bournemouth’s late winner on Sunday and received little sympathy from Neville.
“He’s not good enough, that goalkeeper,” the former Manchester United defender had said. Â “You could see actually in his first game, was it against [Manchester] United on a Monday night? He looks nervous and he isn’t good enough.”
Having hit back at Neville – appearing to take a swipe at his unsuccessful stint as manager of Valencia in the process – Karius appeared far less concerned with the words of his Monday Night Football colleague, Jamie Carragher, who was also far from complimentary about Karius’ recent displays.
“Carragher was here at Liverpool for a long time so maybe after the game he was a bit frustrated,” Karius had told the Daily Mail. Â “He is probably still a supporter.”
Karius’ words have clearly reached Neville. On Friday evening he shared a screen grab of Carragher’s recent assessment of the goalkeeper’s start to his Liverpool career on Instagram, illustrating the point that his own comments were not too dissimilar.
‘My sincere apologies Karius,’ Neville writes. ‘You’re right. A failed manager hasn’t a clue. I won’t copy your great fan, pundit and club legend again.’
