There are few footballers more social-media savvy than Gary Neville.
The former England defender knows that Twitter is about sparking debate and not expecting nuance, and his introduction to Instagram has been similarly by-the-book.
The 41-year-old announced himself on the platform with a couple of holiday snaps from his family trip out to Bali, but it was post number three that really caught the eye.
It was a brilliantly cheesy selfie, shades on and hair meticulously sorted (though we think you missed a spot, Gary).

Neville shared his selfie across to Twitter, presumably in an effort to get maximum pain from his millions of followers.
You certainly can’t accuse him from shying away, and he even had time to reply to a couple of the less-than-complimentary comments from the gallery (pun intended).
Of course there were a few other comments which didn’t receive such an immediate response from the former Manchester United captain. And to be honest, we can’t really blame him all that much.

We can only imagine he’s saving his best material for the next time the pair meet in front of the MNF cameras.
