Thierry Henry’s first game as a manager ended in defeat on Saturday night
Appointed as manager of Monaco – the club at which he began his professional playing career – earlier in the month, he was unable to prevent them losing 2-1 away to Strasbourg on Saturday night.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona legend saw his side fall behind with little over 15 minutes played after their third-choice Senegalese goalkeeper Seydou Sy fumbled what had seemed like a relatively tame header from Adrien Thomasson into his own goal.
Thierry Henry's managerial career has not got off to the best of starts 😬

Things did not improve for Henry’s side. Before half-time, Monaco lost Radamel Falacao to injury; after it, they were reduced to ten men when Samuel Grandsir was shown a red card for his high tackle.
Strasbourg were later able to convert their numerical advantage into a second goal, doubling their lead through substitute Lebo Mothiba six minutes from time.
Though there was still time for Monaco to halve the deficit via a stoppage time penalty from Youri Tielemans, the team from the principality fell to their sixth league defeat of the season. As a result, the 2017 Ligue 1 champions have now dropped to 19th in the table and have just six points to show from their opening ten games.
Henry takes his new side to Belgium on Wednesday evening where they will face Club Brugge in the Champions League. Their next league game comes at home to Dijon on Saturday.
