You’ll have to go a long, long way to find a better finish to a race – both on the track and in commentary – than this women’s 4x400m relay in the Irish Universities Athletics Association (IUAA).
Just as three teams looked set to easily win the face, student Phil Healy, from University College Cork, came “from the depths of hell”, carving her name in the university’s sporting faculty folklore by completing an amazing comeback – and literally falling over the line to record a stunning victory.
The commentary solidifies this clip as an all-time great, with both men losing their minds in the last minute of the run.
Skip to the three minute mark and enjoy.
