Tim Kennedy enjoyed this news way too much.
One of the stars of UFC 194, middleweight contender has failed an out of competition drugs test. The UFC made the official announcement on Tuesday.
The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed Yoel Romero of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Romero. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.
Romero, who won a silver-medalalist in Freestyle Wrestling at the 2000 games, has won seven straight fights in the UFC, with his most recent decision win over Jacare Souza putting him in prime position to fight for the belt next. However, this new development may have catapulted him right out of the title picture.
Tim Kennedy, who suffered a controversial loss to Romero at UFC 178 was quick to twist the knife on social media.
