What an utter numpty.
Rory McIlroy is on the cusp of winning his first Irish Open, and the crowds at the K Club are getting excited.
The Ulsterman had to finish his third round this morning after light and weather conspired against the late group on Saturday afternoon.
Beginning the final 18 holes, McIlroy was still ahead of the chasing pack, three ahead of Danny Willett on nine under.
The opening two holes saw McIlroy begin cautiously enough, so perhaps one supporter was getting agitated when he roared at McIlroy when he was teeing up at the third.
However, if he was determined to act like a buffoon by shouting “GET IN THE HOLE” at the leader, a caddy had a word-perfect response for him.
"Get in the hole!"
"Get off the course"

"Get in the hole" shouts some clown after Rory's tee-shot on 3. "Get off the course" comes the wonderful response #DDFIrishOpen

At the time of writing, McIlroy leads by one shot on 9 under, but play is suspended due to very heavy rain in Straffan.
