Incredible Leicester City statistic shows that they haven’t scored a single goal from outside the box

Simon Lloyd

Leicester City are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League – something few would have predicted would be the case by late November.

The Foxes host second-placed Manchester United next weekend as they look to gain a tighter grip on first.

Although their defensive record is comparable with some of the Premier League’s lower ranked clubs, at the other end of the field they’ve found the net 28 times.

While much has been said and written about Jamie Vardy’s contribution to that tally, another incredible statistic shows that all of their goals have been scored from inside the penalty area.

If their opponents are going to halt a Leicester City title tilt, this stat suggests that the first port of call should be stopping them from entering the 18 yard box.
