This is something else from the Stoke No.1.
In the space of four days, the Euro 2016 dreams of Jack Butland and Rob Elliot were cruelly ended by injury.
Butland damaged ankle ligaments in England’s 3-2 win over Germany, on Friday, while Elliot was stretchered out of Ireland’s 2-2 draw with Slovakia, last night.
It has since emerged that Elliot will be out of action for around six months after scans confirmed damage to his cruciate ligament.
Elliot will, without doubt, bounce back stronger for Newcastle United and Ireland.
Butland, meanwhile, will also miss this summer’s championships and has already shared a post-operative picture from his hospital bed.
Morning guys, very pleased to say the operation was successful! I'm 3 more screws closer to a walking toolbox! 🙈💪🏼 pic.twitter.com/t8Tk94OyCm

The 23-year-old has taken time out from his recovery to wish Elliot all the best with his. He also offered him around to watch some of the Euros.
mate, gutted for you and wish you a solid recovery! you can come round mine and we can watch the euros together! head up mate! @the_dilsh 🙏🏼

While it will be a shame to see Euro 2016 without such fine goalkeeping talents, it is great to know the future of the international game is in such safe, sound hands.
