James McClean might get a lot of stick from some football fans, but you cannot fault his kindness and selflessness.
James McClean is no stranger to incredibly kind acts of humanity and charity, just this week he helped pay for the funeral of Derry child Ronan McGavigan after he was tragically struck by a car.
But the West Brom winger has opened up his heart once again to help support the parents of James McBride.
The Derry Daily are reporting that James is only 14 weeks old and that he has spent the majority of his life in hospital due to a series of health problems. James was recently fitted with a tracheostomy tube to help his breathing and that he’ll also be travelling tomorrow to London to undergo major open heart surgery this week.
The McBride family have created a crowdfunding page, you can donate here, and the fundraising campaign has already reached £2,000. After hearing about the ill health of his namesake, McClean donated £670 towards the cause.
We wish James and the McBride family the very best of luck with the operation.
